Missionary Life
We participate in the mission of the Church by our work or evangelization.
In accordance with the tradition of our Congregation, we commit ourselves to proclaiming the Gospel among people who do not know Christ and where Christ is not sufficiently known.
We serve where the Church is in need.
We are challenged to awaken the sense for God in our contemporary society and to make others aware of the integral salvation of the world offered by God in Jesus Christ.
From the Constitutions of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing, pp. 1-2.
Four-Pronged Thrust
In 1975, The Manila Priory adopted a four-pronged thrust which up to this day, influences the direction of the Priory.
1. That our institutional apostolates be socially oriented.
2. That we foster non-institutional apostolates.
3. That we initiate direct missionary work in the Philippines.
4. That we continue the sending of Filipina Sisters to the FOREIGN MISSIONS.
Our Benedictine Spirit shall characterize these endeavors by a continuous striving to build community not only among ourselves but also with the people we serve; and by developing a vibrant liturgical spirituality that will draw us all into one worshipping community.
