This act of consecration is also recited on the first Friday of the month.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated with solemnity in all our convents, since from its beginnings our Congregation has been placed under the protection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
– Constitutions, Norm 310
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, behold us assembled here today to proclaim your absolute dominion over us. We have heeded your call, and we pledge to lead a life like yours so that among us may flourish the virtue for which you promised peace on earth. We ask you to reign over our understanding and to grant us the fullness of faith. We ask you to reign over our hearts and to fill us with an ardent love for you. May the flame of this love keep burning in our hearts as we unite ourselves with you in the sacrament of the Eucharist.
Let your spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words, and our deeds. Bless our undertakings, sanctify our joys, and comfort us in our sorrows. Grant us to know you better, to love you more, and to serve you without faltering. If we should ever have the misfortune to grieve your Sacred Heart, remind us of your goodness and mercy towards the repentant sinner.
Lord Jesus, Eternal King, let your Kingdom prevail and triumph in our country. Enter closely into the midst of our families and our communities, and make us your own through our devotion to your Sacred Heart. By the sacrament of your body and blood, transform us into your likeness, and grant us the love that will enable us to lay down our lives in heroic and humble service, as you laid down your life for our redemption.
We praise and glorify you, Lord Jesus, who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

The styles have changed, but the truth portrayed is valid for all times: God’s mercy and God’s faithfulness sustain the world — in Jesus Christ, our Savior. (Sr. Bernita Walter OSB.
